SAP University Alliances, Foris Telecom offer cutting-edge techno logy to Eduardo Mondlane University.

[ Johannesburg, 23 April 2009 ] - SAP University Alliances and Foris Telecom hav e signed a joint memorandum of understanding (MOU) to provide the SAP curriculum and WiMax connection respectively to the Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambi que.

The Eduardo Mondlane University, in Maputo, is the oldest and largest institutio n of higher learning in Mozambique. The MOU will be used as a pilot for the roll out of the SAP University Alliances curriculum to sub-Saharan Africa and other r egions in the continent. The agreement fits in with the Foris Telecom objective of bringing broadband to the masses in least developed countries. We believe in the value that the SAP Un iversity Alliance Programme will provide in bridging the skills divide,. says Dr Yonathan Mizrachi, Digital Inclusion and eGovernment Officer at Foris Telecom.

The University Alliance Programme is by far an honest and highly important initi ative to take part in for human capacity development,. he adds.

African development is a critical part of what the University Alliance is about. This initiative therefore adds impetus to the SAP campaign for talent and skill s for rapidly developing and growing markets,. says Max Fuzani, University Allia nces Manager at SAP Africa.

The Eduardo Mondlane University will join several other universities that are al ready part of the SAP University Alliances around the globe.

The SAP UCCs und SAP UA ask for the submission of presentations at the User Group Meeting 2008

This year's User Group Meeting is intended to promote a vivid discussion about the usage of SAP solutions in research and education. Therefore the SAP University Competence Centers and SAP University Alliances encourage committed members of institutions of higher education to present their experiences with SAP usage in research and education. Interested participants are kindly asked to send their proposals to Holger Wittges (UCC TU München). More information can be found in the offical Call for Presentation.
